Upcoming Movie Excitement: The Perks of Being a Wallflower
This book is one of my favorites from my high school years, and this trailer has me itching to see the movie. The cast is pretty solid considering they could have easily used a lot of unknowns to give the film a more indie vibe.
The trailer seems pretty close to the book (though Logan Lerman is a bit old to play the lead, I feel), and I hope they keep that throughout. The book has some parts that could be controversial, but those parts are really what makes it so powerful. That the author, Stephen Chbosky, also helped direct & produce it should help. Hopefully I’ll have a chance to reread the book before this premieres.
