One of the only live performances of John Mayer’s “Speak For Me” off his latest album,Born and Raised. Since he’s had so much trouble with throat issues and has not been able to tour or perform much lately, this is a pretty cool to be able to see!

I’m loving Kimbra (the female vocalist on Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know”) right now! Her song “Good Intent” is on my July playlist and it’s one that I find myself skipping tracks to get to on my short commute to and from work.

“Heart Skips A Beat” by Lenka

“Shiver Shiver” by Walk the Moon

“I’m Not Who I Was” by Brandon Heath

Before it even began, “Summer is Over” by Jon McLaughlin featuring Sara Bareilles

“Small Bump” by Ed Sheeran

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again—my friends are amazingly talented. Here’s a video of my friend Rebecca Roubion performing with John Hayes on his song “Hold Me Now.” It’s just lovely!

The chorus from Lissie’s “When I’m Alone” has been repeating in my head since I heard it in a store last weekend. Such a fun vibe. Happy weekend!

My friend Rebecca Roubion singing “You Are My Sunshine.” She’s got an amazing voice that I love!

Aww, yes - this is powerful stuff.

Graham Colton has a new album out today on iTunes. Love the new songs, especially “Hold On To My Heart.” Check him out!!

Back in the fall of 2006, as I started my final year of undergraduate coursework, my friend Elka was some kind of obsessed with this song. Since we had a number of the same classes and were involved in about 5 of the same extracurriculars, we spent a whole heck of a lot of time together. She liked to listen to this during our late night study sessions, and it always reminds me of her!

It seems like this week is all about my amazing friends! Today’s friendspiration comes from Rebecca Roubion, who I met through our involvement in an extended orientation program. She’s a singer-songwriter who volunteered to write and perform a song to be used for the program about growing and changing through college. It’s one of my favorite songs simply because it’s got so much history behind it.

Since graduating, Rebecca’s moved to Nashville to hopefully make it big in the music industry. She’s got a bit of a Sara Bareilles-Vanessa Carlton vibe and there’s something more there along with her very unique voice. This is a single from her album “A Fine Place to Start.”

Check out her music and see her if she’s performing near you! She also does a phenomenal cover of Coldplay’s “Fix You.”

Everything falls to pieces exactly as it should.
